Hello, fellow bookworms! June has come to an end and I managed to somehow not read a single one of the LGBTQ reads I had planned on. Despite that, it was an EXCELLENT reading month. One specific book really hit the spot, and I’ll be recommending it to everyone I know for the rest of time.
The Cruel Prince (Holly Black)
This is one of those classic fantasy books of the last decade that just gets under your skin. So so atmospheric, the most visceral setting you’ve ever read. Feels like the most vivid dream you’ve ever had.
Fourth Wing (Rebecca Yarros)
This is it- this is the number one book for the year. At least until the second book comes out in November. There are DRAGONS!!!! It is easily the best romance fantasy I’ve ever read, with such staggering political intrigue and a twist ending that shook me to my Core. I literally haven’t stopped talked about it since I finished it. November and book two can’t come fast enough.
Unmasking Autism: Discovering the New Faces of Neurodiversity (Dr. Devon Price)
FASCINATING. I love the interweaving of personal anecdotes, interviews, and research.
What Feelings Do When No One’s Looking (Tina Oziewicz, Aleksandra Zajac)
The most lovely and impactful of children’s books; should be read by everybody regardless of age.
