High school romances can be tricky. Especially when you’re a boy with a crush on the new boy in school, who looks and acts an awful lot like King Arthur. Especially when your friend groups looks a lot like the Knights of the Round Table, and maybe you’ve been here before. Merlin seems to be living the same love affair again and again, but that’s not possible. Is it?

In this compelling and original YA story, chock full of magical realism, slow-burning love, and gay high schoolers, it just might be.
My debut novel is still one of my favorites! Written during Nanowrimo my freshman year of college, Once and Forever follows Merlin as he makes his way through his senior year of high school, dealing with college applications, friend group drama, and falling in love with a boy who may or may not be the reincarnation of King Arthur.
I still have so many fond memories of curling up in my dorm room after class and typing frantically to keep up with that 1,667-word-per-day goal. I actually have a vlog from writing this book! See below 🙂
Writing this was one of my first times putting my whole heart and soul into something, and even though I reread it now and see only the things that I could’ve done better, I am still so proud of this work. Writing Once and Forever kept me tethered during one of the more intense periods in my life, and I am grateful to it for that.
